We're heading to brunch at Embassy Suites in Loveland. They have an amazing buffet for certain special occasions. We went for Easter and have been looking forward to going back since. <div><br></div><div>And since this is a knitting blog...I have a couple FOs to show. One of the girls in our complex office is expecting her 3rd baby. Lots of knitting has been happening. In fact, I'm working on a little sweater for my granddaughter right now.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiV4DpzTlvf_-H_aW_CxVh343w3R6FpyQm-8jFHQQQPe9SmxgWepIYRuF5yIDRTtcCU4nueJPfFUU6xE66TEIF7TmulORisthk8CbGCSR0aFEjTxymTD551xJRTldSweZo2qjw_/s1600/IMG_1601.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiV4DpzTlvf_-H_aW_CxVh343w3R6FpyQm-8jFHQQQPe9SmxgWepIYRuF5yIDRTtcCU4nueJPfFUU6xE66TEIF7TmulORisthk8CbGCSR0aFEjTxymTD551xJRTldSweZo2qjw_/s320/IMG_1601.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
This is <a href="http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/miss-daisy" target="_blank">Miss Daisy</a> and it's a super quick little knit. I'm working it in Cascade 220 Superwash in Charcoal. I'm almost done with the ribbing and then will just have the little sleeves to do. I will omit the closure so it matches a sweater her mommy has.<br />
<br />
What's everyone else working on?Kerryhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00206930225696747418noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15647454.post-12848970985988835692015-12-29T21:34:00.001-05:002015-12-29T21:37:36.110-05:00DeadlinesSo normally I thrive on deadlines but this one has really pained me. I participated in <a href="https://www.theloopyewe.com/yarn-shop/blog/topic/loopy-academy/" target="_blank">Loopy Academy</a> again and just finished my 3rd and final project today. The challenge was to knit a pillow, a textured project, and a cabled project. These are my entries:<br />
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<img alt="" id="id_32be_f985_5874_3d9" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh3W3UeyAPMy-x_IhW35TY_DZ91axMC5Js1Mo0z3FprM1vdM1Btlmtt-cia0k8mKRSpfB4R2JS8T-XvuhG9V_ORJDzmICc9XdABC_i0ti6-0-sw4MhOT_Jgf65ysBv6PHaAMBwL/" style="height: auto; width: 392px;" title="" /></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<img alt="" id="id_ae4c_e554_d7e5_fa3c" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg5Q2i9AFu_IFuDJcTNQjfUc4ykX38sPfXooAmK2ueu2U6cY3gs3HRRThTTpl9gKyxvXwPY7O80xevDxba9-3RqDJzsHr0QKTboVssGDAZWgnzhfLXXBj0urY5d2b62fTJgjCwj/" style="height: auto; width: 392px;" title="" /></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<img alt="" id="id_2164_1000_826a_620f" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgzeL7ZYE27SmpbG-SmqRO55aWgHNj5wwru-pyYgl5S62nRhRf6gZ6BKpjhmRC-HzcySaiYJaO4jCXZyRO9CoY8YNQIRxl1FQK-I5IJO0zQ3Bf9ZJFAXxkpN-kc79wzhPGRbUTe/" style="height: auto; width: 392px;" title="" /></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
What pained me about this was the huge amount of guilt I've felt about not spending time on other projects. Mostly those super important thrummed mittens that only need a thumb and a half. If anyone is looking for me I'll be spending my time with them.</div>

<a href="http://pdxknitterati.com/" target="_blank">Michele</a> shared with me a really neat way to do thrums that she demonstrates over on her blog. I can't wait to try this method on the next pair I knit. <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HVHeQf7nIRs&feature=youtu.be" target="_blank">Go check it out</a>!</div>

When I got home I took a really good look at it. Then I took an even better look at the pattern. </div><div><br></div><div><img id="id_e182_1477_3297_e4a3" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgZDqFGYiDvw6M39RIOWbIoYjTmruMOMXl7STrGYGtrxgSvDkTWW4yu4veJaBPiTWuDWqKQncp_oN0C95Sm-tSjwAuvClmlgYPkfNj9YuycixRU9anOGkeNEiBU9TAF0Vghyphenhyphen52C/" alt="" title="" style="width: 392px; height: auto;"><br></div><div><br></div><div>Turns out about 30 rows ago when I was questioning the reversal of cable direction, I should have stopped and had that better look at the pattern then. Crappers. </div><div><br></div><div>See it there on the left side of the hat? Yeah, me too. It's currently in time out while I decide if it'll be quicker to rip back to the mistake or drop each of those cabled areas (there are 4 of them) and fix it. </div><div><br></div><div>What say you all???</div><div><br></div><div><br></div>Kerryhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00206930225696747418noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15647454.post-63835330680612957982015-11-11T15:12:00.001-05:002015-11-11T15:12:00.037-05:00Always Remember<div><img id="id_fad0_4775_47ab_d6c3" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgQKNQO5ixBDiK040Hgtz4iiD6Ml8W8C8QFzBituj9F0hGQD2gwB0tPISqRy6kpIFNLQKR0z3B3wHwUPzLASpFtHW5XMIyGXGXeGr68arGIDhfPSXaMXa3-PZtZ0hrNjUyXM-fi/" alt="" title="" style="width: 392px; height: auto;"><br></div><div><br></div><div>Thank you to all our service men and women, today and every day, for your bravery and dedication. I knit several of the little hats for our grandbaby when she was born, but never the booties. How I wish I had knit matching sets each time I used the pattern! The hat knits up in an evening and the booties seem to take even less time than the hat. And the little bit of knitting I've been showing pieces of? Totally coordinates with the hat and booties! Can't wait to share it with you soon! Just have to make a trip to the store for some dainty little buttons. Maybe tomorrow. </div>Kerryhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00206930225696747418noreply@blogger.com0
