Fix It or Frog It???

That is the question.

So I took the Temptation hat with me on my afternoon school run and finished it up to just before the decreasing starts. When I got home I took a really good look at it. Then I took an even better look at the pattern.

Turns out about 30 rows ago when I was questioning the reversal of cable direction, I should have stopped and had that better look at the pattern then. Crappers.

See it there on the left side of the hat? Yeah, me too. It's currently in time out while I decide if it'll be quicker to rip back to the mistake or drop each of those cabled areas (there are 4 of them) and fix it.

What say you all???

I'd rip it back and re-knit. I'm a quick knitter, but not a quick drop and fixer, especially if there are four areas to fix.

This isn't the hat that's going with the set, is it? If yes, then I'd tear it back to the problem area and re-knit.

If it's just a kid's hat what the heck. It's going to get outgrown and/or lost anyhow. You could just finish it up and give it to a teacher or school secretary to gifting to a student who is hatless on a cold day. That way your work won't have been wasted and you'll be doing a good deed.
