Ice Cold Milk and an Oreo Cookie

Names drawn for the 5th:

Lisa D., Leslie, Meg Peters, Shelby and Adrienne

Dailaesse loves Oreo cookies. When she asks for a snack, 99% of the time she asks for Oreos. She especially loves the holiday colored Oreo cookies. They amaze her. There is nothing like the way her little face lights up when she sees a new color. Surprise and excitement all rolled up in one look. Ah, to be young again. Now, when Dailaesse was first introduced to Oreo cookies, she ate the whole cookie. That didn't surprise me. It takes time for kids to realize that the best part of the Oreo is the middle. But time after time, cookie after cookie, Dailaesse continued to eat the entire thing. I worried. Could there be something wrong with my baby? Will she ever develop the disdain for the crunchy, brown cookie part that all the other children have? Of course she will. And she did. Last week. Now mind you, it didn't happen immediately. She began swaying towards the creamy middle. Slowly at first. Twisting the outer cookies apart to reveal the "lummy" middle. Stealing little nibbles of the crunchy cookie part after eating the middle so as not to make the cookies feel left out. Then today while all three of the kids enjoyed an Oreo and milk snack after school Dailaesse let her true feelings be known. "This brown cookie part really sucks!"

Well it does.

Yummm, I could really use a few Oreos right now! Up late taking a break from frogging a sock for a KAL...had to downsize the leg & that changed the pattern so took alittle knitting & frogging.......

So am I the first for today?

Up til now, I'd swear she and Breanna were twins seperated at birth, but the oreos are where they part ways I guess. Bre won't eat the middles at all. She'll take them apart and make Dad or Papa eat the middle and then she eats the cookies. Favorite is oatmeal raisin, but she picks the raisins out.

OTN: Gusset shaping and the foot of the second Jolly Green Giant sock is all that's left and then I can finally play with all the new STR.

I love Oreo too. Thankfully we get the regular, double stuff, and chocolate ones here. I don't think I could live this long in a country without Oreos.

Have you tried the white fudge covered ones? mmmmmmm.

You're making me hungry! I haven't had a Oreo in - gee, I can't remember when. Guess I know what I'll buy at the store today ;)

i personally love chocolate so actually prefer the chocolate cookie instead of the filling. guess i should just buy the chocolate wafers 8 }. i guess i'm defective! of course, coating anything with chocolate makes it all better!

I feel kinda bad for the cookie part now. I actually used to love the cookie part even better than the filling. I mean where would that ol filling be without the cookie to do all the work & keep it from sliding away??

I'm with adrienne - mostly! Depends on the mood. I was excited about the chocolate-wafer "100 calorie pack" Oreos...but they weren't the same as the lovely, crunchy chocolate cookie in a real Oreo.

(Hmm....knitted Oreo pillow? Or...maybe a purse?...hmm...:))

My grandaughter Lilee won't eat cookies at all, she is weird, she prefers fruit. Unless you give her a chocolate chip cookie, then she will pick out the chocolate chips and refuses to eat the cookie, so she may be weird, but she is okay in my book if she loves chocolate that much.

Oooh I love Oreos too (especially the double stuffs)! I come here now for my laugh of the day, and Princess D. always delivers doesn't she?

now see, my favorite part is the actual cookie. for years i wondered why the heck you couldn't buy just the cocoa-y cookie part, then i found them. they're called Nabisco wafers - maybe classic wafers, can't remember. anyway they're stupid expensive and come in a tube-like package.
second favorite, chocolate teddy grahams. mmmm, where's the milk?

I am still drooling over Oreos, but I am too lazy to walk the ten minutes to the store to buy some. Thank goodness the store is so far away, I don't them to be eating Oreos.

Hey there, Kerry and friends :)
It's Thursday morning and I'm leaving my sign in for Thursday.

I must confess to getting some Oreos out of the vending machine at work yesterday. Financially they're a poor buy but when you just want a couple and not a whole package... Besides, whoever said you could budget when chocolate's concerned??

Good Thursday morning..leaving my sign in, also for today.......Its 7a.m. & -4 degrees here...but am warm & ready to start knitting on my Sock KAL for December......And now that the coffee is perking away, I could use a cookie or two

Good Morning! I keep forgeting to look at the blog. Today Lindsey my 3 year GD and I are stringing popcorn for her christmas tree. I believe that I will be doing more of the stringing as she wants to eat it. Snow in the forecast today 5-7 inches!

My addiction is the Oreo icecream. In highschool I used to eat a whole carton of the stuff in one day. Granted, it would take me all day, but I'd do it.

I too keep forgetting to check what is going on, but my hard drive is dead and I'm waiting for the new one, so mooching others' computers makes it harder.

The best oreo ice cream is to go to Cold Stone Creamery and get their cake batter ice cream with double oreos. It's my (and my daughter's) favorite. Great, now I want some!!

Princess D is right. The chocolate cookie part does suck.

When I was a child, we would eat the middle then dunk the cookie part in the milk and try to guess when was just the right time to remove it from the milk so we could suck the milk with the chocolate, out of the cookie, BEFORE it got TOO soft and fell into the glass! I was pretty good at it too.

Remember now Kerry, I'm not here! hahaha

Poppin back in to sign in for Thursday. Finished the Jolly Green Giant socks that are guaranteed to fit Sasquatch feet, and now on to play in the new STR yarns!

Knit on......
