Dora

Where's your post for a giveaway entry? Huh? Huh? Just to recap, I'll choose 78 names between now and the 12th for my current contest. The winning name will be drawn from those names and be announced on the 13th. Good luck and have fun!

The scarf signup is closed and I'll be emailing you all your partners today. If you want to share photos let me know. I'd be more than happy to post them in my album for all to see. Don't forget, you have until the 16th of January to get them in the mail.

It's been so busy around here lately I haven't been taking the time to share many stories with you. I'm overdue. Are you ready? Here goes:

This past weekend Dan came to me and asked if he could do some Christmas shopping online. I agreed to let him use our card and he sat down to start shopping. He had some ideas of what he wanted to get and asked where the best places would be to find them. The first person on his list was Dailaesse. He said he had seen a Dora TV advertised on a commercial not too long ago and thought he might like to buy her that. I said I had seen them at Sears and Walmart so we decided to check Walmart first. While we were looking for the TV he spotted a Dora toddler bed. He thought this was a better idea. I said I wasn't so sure as Dailaesse still sleeps with us and I think we're going to have a hard time getting her out of our bed. I told him he should ask her about it first. He did. She stopped dead in her tracks and stared at us. I could hear the wheels turning as she thought about this. Dora is her favorite TV character after all. Then it happened. She clutched her chest, started jumping up and down and she screamed...

"Son of a bitch!!! I'm free!!! I'm getting my own Dora bed!!!"

So the Dora bed (along with a Dora bedding set compliments of her big sister Darcie) should be arriving some time today. I hope she's as excited about it when it comes time to sleep in it as she was Saturday.

Oh BEST of luck to you getting her into her own bed, Dora or otherwise! Our 4 yr old Granddaughter just couldn't stand it til she got her own and over 2 years later, she's still sleeping on the loveseat in their front room. She will sleep on the daybed here at Grandma's, but G'ma HAS to sleep it it WITH her.

How funny!
When my dd hit her head getting into the car she said, "Son of a bitch!" while rubbing her head. I was so shocked, she was 2 years old.
We tried to watch our langage from then on.

You've got to watch that language, lady! Imagine Dailaesse in kindergarten - bringing home a note for cussing in class. LOL. My (late) attorney realized he had to clean up his mouth when his dd came out with "I can't find my f*&^%ing princess shoes!" one year.

Anyhow, yep, it's December 1st! Here's my entry! Now remember to post a little something every day :)

Just surfed on in via your link in Socknitters post. Laughing so hard I choked on my water when I read what your daughter said. Too funny. Hope she enjoys her bed as much when it arrives. :-)

OMG, I just laughed so hard the dog came over to see what was wrong! Now THAT's a true princess!

I remember one time when my (now 26-year-old) son was little and we were having our usual get-ready-for-school ruckus, and he said, "My name's NOT Dammit!" I watched my words better after that!
Congrats on getting your bed back...

Dora is my niece's favourite too. She carries her bag to and from daycare everyday. And she won't let anybody touch it.

Sometimes I think children are here just to keep us humble. I realized I had to watch what I say in the car when we were behind someone slow and my little boy screamed "Step on it Granny!!" Oops, I guess I should be a little more patient.

Great blog! Son of a bitch!!! I'm going to enjoy reading all the previous posts.

This was so great! I still believe that my first word had to be a swear word since my parents refuse to tell me what it was.

My obsessions were Strawberry Shortcake and Holly Hobbie, but I can totally relate. I was collecting stuff for years that I wouldn't let my brother or sister look at half the time, let alone touch.

Kids are funny.

ROFL! How FUNNY, Kerry! What did you do?!? Well, hey, at least she didn't bellow in full-lung outrage in a grocery store: "I want my FART! I want my FART!" over and over and OVER again. :::shudder::: He wanted a new whoopie cushion *sigh*

I died. I simply DIED when my 18 month old son did that. My husband got an EARFUL (regarding his bad influence!) when we got home! I could've strangled him.

Hi Kerry

I guess better late than never, but your little Dialaesse must be fun to have around! I think she is beginning to sound like a chip off the old block, don't you? LOL

And friend, do NOT put my name in for this contest. It wouldn't be fair to the others. I just enjoy reading your blog and saying hello.

Hi Kerry;

That story about the Dora bed for your daughter was priceless!! I hope everything works out when the bed arrives and she will still want to sleep in it, instead of with you. Good Luck!
