See how it's doing that really cool shadow sort of thing? I love it. And I can't even begin to tell you how much I love this yarn. It's so soft and feels just like butter running over my fingers. I've got to find a different pattern for it. Something that will really do it justice.
And here's some proof that I actually advanced on the second Scales Skin Sock.
Not much, I know. I completed 17 rounds in the few minutes I took to sit on my arse today while waiting for dinner to finish baking. My darling husband invited his friend and his wife (who I've never met) to the house for dinner tomorrow night so I've been cleaning house today. This is the reason we rarely entertain. It's not because I don't like having people around, I just don't like having to make sure the house is hospital clean. We have 3 kids and our house shows it on a daily basis. It's fine for us but not for company.
Look at what came in the mail today.
Have you ever seen a more gorgeous piece of art in your life??? I got it from Alicia Hankins. Her husband has been hand crafting these gorgeous darning eggs and nostepinnes from the cleared and felled trees that Hurricane Katrina left behind. (I'll not tell you what my husband thought it was.) Alicia's constantly updating her inventory and I believe I saw a little blurb somewhere that said she also takes custom orders. Go have a look for yourself. I'm sure you'll be as impressed as I am.
Thanks Leslie for the wonderful compliment on the blog! I'm really loving the new look. The splash of knit at the top and bottom are the Crusoe socks I made for Stephanie. :-)

What a neat idea to use up all the fallen trees down south that would probably otherwise go to waste. Though I have to admit I probably had the same thought as your husband when I saw it! =)
Yeah, I'm guilty too...guess I have a dirty mind. What the heck is a nostepinne anyway? Love the new look too, and not just because it shows my socks!
Don't worry about cleaning, chances are she'll be so nervous about meeting you she won't notice anything. And if she has kids, she'll understand.
Well, we ALL have the same minds - I was wondering what Kerry was handling for a minute there! :))
Great idea for using those downed trees - think I'll go have a look-see.
Wow, that does look cool. I love seeing my yarn in action!
